- The Foundation for Continuing Education is a non-profit organization that presents
professional continuing education seminars and training programs on taxes, accounting,
estate planning, financial planning, retirement planning, negotiation strategies,
marketing, computers, and the Internet. Founded in 1977, the Foundation is also a
publisher of materials on tax, legal, accounting, and business planning topics.
At the organization's Web site, visitors can view a schedule of upcoming seminars,
purchase publications on a wide range of topics, or view photographs of the Foundation's
eight-acre training center north of Boston. A professional resources directory of
Massachusetts practitioners is also available.
From the homepage, select the Seminars button to view a current schedule that lists
program subject, speaker, location, date and time, and cost. The schedule also serves as a
registration form that can be printed and then faxed or mailed to the Foundation.
To purchase publications on topics ranging from
retirement and estate planning to personal development and tax planning, select the
Research Library button. Current titles include "Life and Death Planning for
Retirement Benefits" and "The Power of a Millionaire Mentality: The Best Kept
Secret to Wealth."
Click on the Video box to see a local television clip about the Foundation and its
founder, president, and chef, Richard Solano. In the clip, Solano, a CPA, explains that
the organization's goal is to educate professionals, executives and entrepreneurs in
survival tactics for the 1990s. (Visitors must download RealPlayer to view the clip, a
link is provided.) Select Corporate Training Center to view photographs of the compound,
located on Pleasant Pond in Wenham, Mass.
The Professional Directory is a comprehensive listing of professionals practicing in
Massachusetts. Practitioners are arranged in the categories of accounting and auditing;
trust and banking services; estate planning; financial planning; insurance planning; IRS
problems; investment planning; legal; real estate; strategic business planning; and tax
planning.
Though the site can be rather slow to load with a 28.8 kbps modem, it is an invaluable
resource for New England professionals who would like to-or who are required to-continue
their education.
